In which area of Alicante is it best to look for accommodation?

- El Barrio (Casco Antiguo): This is the historic center of Alicante, also known as the old town. Here you will find narrow streets, colorful houses, and a lively atmosphere. It is perfect for those who want to enjoy the local culture, tapas bars, and proximity to attractions such as Santa Bárbara Castle.
- El Puerto (the port): This area is located around Alicante's marina. It is a popular spot with many restaurants, bars, and shops along the waterfront. Here you can enjoy beautiful sea views and the lively atmosphere of a bustling port city. The Melia Hotel is located here, for example.
- Playa del Postiguet: This is the beach closest to the city center, at the foot of Mount Benacantil, on which the castle is located. Along this beach, you will find many hotels and apartments with sea views. It is ideal for beach lovers who also want to stay close to the city. In addition to the Melia, there is also Spa Portamaris (also owned by Melia).
- Playa de San Juan: This is one of the largest and most popular beaches in Alicante, located just outside the city center. Along this beach, you will find a mix of hotels, vacation apartments, and resorts. It is perfect for those who want a more relaxed beach vacation away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
- Explanada de España: This is the wide boulevard along the sea in the city center, known for its characteristic mosaic tiles and palm trees. Along the Explanada, you will also find several hotels with sea views and easy access to the beach and nearby attractions. Here you will find, for example, the Casa Alberola van Hilton.
The choice of accommodation depends on your personal preferences, whether you want to stay close to the beach, in the historic center, or along the marina. Each of these areas is easily accessible on foot. With a towel over your shoulder, you can stroll from a nice hotel in the Barrio to the beach.
